Suggest Treatment For Swollen Bruises On Hand

I am 77 and had Parkinsons for 32 years. I ve had afib for 10 years now and have been on asprin (325mg) a day. Recently, I noticed severe bruises on my fore arms and the back of my hands. My hand was swollen with severe bruises. Do you think it is because of Asprin plus some medical condition?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

Most probably the bruises on the hands and fore arms may be due to fragile capillaries . Old age may be responsible. It may be called senile purpura. However, you consult dermatologist to rule out other causes of purpura. There may be secondary infection causing swelling ofthe area. Local application of thrombophob oint may improve the lesions. Vitamin C and K, antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs may be considered. Take bed rest. Avoid rubbing and scratching the skin anywhere. Avoid minor injuries. You may feel better after few weeks. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
