Suggest Treatment For Swollen Feet In A Heart Patient
Yes my significant other has congestive heart failure. On 3water pills a day. The tops of his feet broke open from the swelling. His liver count is 167. He is 83. His heart is pumping halve of what it was. He was told 2years ago of that problem. In you opinion what do you think?
Hi, thank you for the query. Proper control of symptoms would require drugs and some life style modifications. He probably needs a combination of at least two drugs with one reducing the reabsorption of water into bloodstream and the other promoting elimination of excess water form the body. Captopril and furosemide can be of help here. Concerning life style changes, he needs to reduce intake of table salt. I would suggest he sees his treating doctor or a cardiologist for proper assessment and management.
I hope that answers your query. I wish him well
