Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Dear Sir/ Madam,

Thank you for posting your query at healthcaremagic.com
I would like to know where the arthritis is?? Is it the ankle or knee?
1. Protect you foot
2. give proper rest
3. icing will reduce the inflammation
4. wrape the crape bandage in proper way around the foot
5. elevation of leg above heart level 45 degree. you can place a pillow and rest the leg on that. I this position you can do ankle toe movements. That will pump the edema.
6. Gently massage the swollen foot which will again accelerate the pumping of fluids.
7. You can use antiinflammatory which will help in reducing the pain
** You can consult a physiotherapist who will help you in reducing the pain and design some exercise which will strengthen your joint.

If the swelling is still not going down you can consult urologist as some time the swelling(edema) could be related to that.

I wish you speedy recovery!!
Please revert back to me if you have any further query.

With best wishes
