Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Node On Back Of Head
Yes, I have a swollen lymph node in the back of my head, near the base of my neck. I have had tenderness for a couple of weeks and it seems to travel from one node to another. I also have sjogrens and chronic fatigue syndrome and am wondering if it could be related to either of those autoimmune illnesses. I just finished a prescription of steroids and antibiotics for an acute sinus infection. I thought the medication would help release the inflammation in that area of my head, but it has not. Can you give me any advise. Thanks.
Dear patient Lymph nodes are part of the lymphatic system which helps to prevent and restrict infection and drains extracellular fluid into main system. So if you have active infection in area of.lymph nodes then it will get swollen. So once you treat the infection lymph nodes becomes normal. Since you have got infection In sinuses that might be reason of lymph nodes swelling. So wait for a week till sinus infection is healed. If after that swelling persists then you need to be investigated with excision biopsy of that lymph node. So please consult . general surgeon for that. All the best.
