I started loosing my voice yesterday after my niece, who has been sick working at a summer camp for 8 weeks, coughed in my face on accident. I started developing the feeling of swollen lymph nodes and sore throat and now notice swollen gums, headache and sore muscles. I ve been taking airborne, vitamin d and hot showers but am open to any other advice...

The symptoms of swollen lymph nodes, gums, sore-throat and headache on exposure to the infected person is an indication that you have to start taking the antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines as early as possible. There is no other option , if you want to avoid further complications. Take plenty of warm liquids orally, take a bed rest, consult a Doctor to get examined and a prescription for an appropriate treatment.
