Suggest Treatment For Swollen, Red Colored Eyes After Hitting With Ball

my son was hit in the face with a 16lb bowling ball on Thursday night. He went to ER had xrays and no broken bones. He applied ice to area (right temple and nderneath right eye). Yesterday it didn't look too bad, but today he has swelling under the eye, a large black and blue area under the eye and the corner of his eye is bright red. Should he apply ice, heat, or neither?

IF X-RAY I NAD ice compression can be given over swelling area. Acumulalation of blood in eye is self limiting. It will go in 15 days. no worry for that.
