Suggest Treatment For Swollen , Sensitive And Painful Eyes

My doctor told me my eye infection can not be treated and it will keep coming back. I have researched and can not find information on untreatable eye infections. What can I do to get some relief? Very painful, red, swollen, light sensitive, and unclear vision are my symptoms.
