I was told that I have syringoma on my face. I have it on my forehead, above my eye lashes, under my eyes, on my face and chin. I'm terrified, please tell me what I can do to make it a little better or completely better. I'm embarrased of the way I look. I feel like the elephant man.
Syringomas are benign eccrine tumours with he main elements lying in the dermis. The main reason for their removal is cosmetic and the only way to do so is through ablative methods, which decrease the size making you look more cosmetically viable without causing scarring.
Electrocautery, carbon di oxide laser (either fractionated or used with a pin hole) Er;YAG laser, dermaabrasion, cryotherapy, TCA peels are some of the methods. But you have to remember that this condition is offer recurring, as some of the gland is often left behind even after ablation. For smaller lesions topical retinoids can also be used.
