My face always seems to be a lot darker then my body even during the winter and it s not even a shade darker it s more like my body is light and then the neck up is dark? I don t know why is my face permanently darker than my body and if not is there a way for me to even my skin tone all over?
The skin pigmentation is due to excessive production of melanin pigment produce by melanocytes . There are many factors which can trigger the production on melanin and most common is sun exposure . Other factors are stress , hormonal changes and certain cosmetic products . I would suggest you to exfoliate your skin twice a week , wash your face with cold water and mild soap , apply kojic acid cream after washing face which is very effective and also apply vitamin E oil during night . Apply broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 while under sun exposure . If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist , who may prescribe isoteritenoin and retinoids or may recommend chemical peeling .
