Suggest Treatment For Thick Phlegm With Negative Test Results For COPD

Thick phlem enveloping vocal chords which limits voice volume and pitch to a low growl. Clear lungs and normal blood work. Acid reflux has been canceled out as has cystic fibrosis, copd, and chronic bronchitis. I cough up micuous thick and sticky enough to bind a popsicle stick house. It varies in color, including black. Advaor had no affect, nor has a netti pot or expectorant and 4 rounds of antibiotocs. Only thing that has not been attempted is a nebulizer. Any ideas?

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you should first consult pulmonologist and get done bronchitis. As thick mucus can be seen in bronchitis. You may not have chronic bronchitis but acute bronchitis can be there. So get done PFT (pulmonary function test) to rule out acute bronchitis. And for thick mucus you need mucolytic and expectorant.
Commonly used drugs for this are
1. N Acetyl Cystiene (NAC)
2. Ambroxol
3. Bromhexine
All will dilute the mucus and loosen it so that it can be easily expectorate.
Chest physiotherapy and deep breathing exercise bis also beneficial in your case.
So better to consult pulmonologist and discuss all these
