Hi, I ve just been diagnosed with the suspicion of follicular neoplasia of my thyroid. They had done a fine needle biopsy and that was the result. The nodule is 3.6 cm. My family dr has referred me to a surgeon for further evaluation. This isn t a good sign, isn t it?
Hi, dear I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have follicular neoplasm. It can be follicular adenoma, follicular carcinoma or other lesion. It is impossible to differentiate follicular adenoma and carcinoma on FNAC. So you should go for thyroidectomy. Consult your surgeon and plan for surgery.
