Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr. Rynnne. Happy Friday! A few days ago I started experiencing a tightness in my left leg. It s hard to go down stairs and bend my leg. I m not in pain and it does not appear to be swollen. I have not had any falls or injuries. I have never had this happen before.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Sudden tightness in your left leg with no evident pain and no swelling is indicating a nerve issue. Perhaps the spinal vertebrae might have dislocated or any recent changes might have compress the nearby nerves. I advise to consult with a neurologist and run EMG studies to evaluate how the legs muscle work. Blood electrolytes should be checked to rule out any respective deficiency. Until you see a neurologist, I advise to take anti-inflammatory meds (like indometacin, ibuprofen, etc) and take magnesium+calcium+zinc+Vit.D3 supplement.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
