Suggest Treatment For Tightness In The Throat And Breathing Problem

19 y/o female. had strep but caught it very early and took antibiotics. after 3 days of antibiotics, sore throat has left but my throat began feeling tight and uncomfortable and has since not gone away. it s causing me to feel as though I m having breathing problems accompanied by panic attacks and not being able to swallow. drinking and eating are very uncomfortable. i saw a doctor who said my oxygen levels are normal and no visible swelling upon looking. I have no trouble talking and feel physically well besides my throat. if I take ibuprofen and benadryl, my throat feels slightly less constricted. I can also see my epiglottis in the back of my throat when I stick my tongue out all the way. it s been 3 days since my initial symptoms and 6 since taking antiobiotics. should I be concerned?

Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM.

It takes 7-10 days for complete recovery. As you are already taking medication so i would recommend you to stick with it regularly. Apart from that i would suggest you to take hot water in a cup, add 1 table spoon salt in it. Perform gargles (mouth wash) with it three times a day for at least 3 days. It will give soothing effect.

AVOID:
> Chilled water
> Drinks
> Spicy food
