My husband has a ffeling of tightness in his throat. He has been battleing this for over a week and a half. He was first treated for strep, after 3 days of no improvement we went to the ER because he was having trouble breathing. ER did blood work no bacterial infection. Gav him Valium to clm him and a steriod. Still no improcvment. He saw an ENT and they did a scope down his throat said everything looked fine. Told him it was in his head. Now 3 days later still suffering. What do we do next?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of tightness in throat which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection. It could be due to poor and immunocompromised state of body as well. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day. You should take steam inhalation twice a day. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxiclav along with decongestant. Maintain proper hygiene. Drink plenty of water and liquids. Take tepid sponging if it is severe headache. Doctor may order test like swab test , blood test , and viral culture test to rule out condition like acid reflux and strep throat.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
