Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
The symptoms you experience are due to an increase in the level of hormones like adrenaline, noradrenaline (stress hormones). These hormones are elevated in a person at the time of stress or anxiety. In your case, the fact that these occur 2 to 3 hours after a heavy meal is interesting and is a pointer to the diagnosis. You probably have reactive hypoglycemia. This can be confirmed with an extended Glucose Tolerance Test ( GTT).
During these episodes you can have palpitation and chest discomfort. If you are at risk of coronary artery disease, you should have an EKG done during an episode.
If you have further query, I am available at HCM site.
Take Care
Dr Noble Zachariah
