Suggest Treatment For Tiny Hole Outside The Ear With Inflammation

Hi, I m 46 yrs old and I ve had this tiny hole on the OUTSIDE of my ear ever since I was born. It has a white, sort of yellowish color with foul smell that sometimes comes out of it. Most of the time it doesn t bother me -- I would squeeze it to clean it out in the shower. But recently I ve had a really bad cold and now it seems like it s inflamed. What is the name of this condition? May need to see doctor to drain?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Explain that it could be a lipoma or a fat tissue cyst. It is quite common to get inflammation or infection, leading to an abscess.

I recommend consulting with a doctor as soon as possible in order to examine it and determine if it needs drainage or not.

In the meantime, I would recommend using locally an antibiotic ointment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
