Suggest Treatment For Tonsillitis In A 6 Years Old Child

A friend has a 6 year old male child. He was diagnosed with tonsilitis . A few days later the condition worsened and he was hospitalised with a diagnosis of Meningitis. He was given an antibiotic and with nursing and eventual home care he has fully recovered. He has infrequent bouts of "sore throats" but G.P> advises there is no need for tonsil rermoval because the tonsils do not swell very much. He has nightly 'episodes" of sleep apnoea-distressing for mum and dad. Any Comments please. Roger Drummond. (Family friend)
