Hello, I have been suffering from tonsillitis for the last week and have started to develop tonsilloths (tonsil stone) which are those White pus things, they have turned hard and are irritating to swallow, and smell incredibly bad. What is the beat way to remove or treat them? And should they go away naturally/ how long?
Since you are having tonsil stones with pus associated with it, you are suggested to get clinically examined, you need antibiotics. Your treating doctor may suggest tonsillectomy. Take liquid diet for a couple of days. In the meantime, gargle with warm water, lozenges help to numb the throat and reduce discomfort.
Keep humidifier in your room to stay comfortable. Stay well hydrated, take water. You can take a course for Penicillin for relieve & acetaminophen, one SOS to ease throat pain. If allergic to penicillin you can take a course of Augmentin but take medicines only after being assessed by a local GP.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
