Good afternoon I went to the doctors last week with pain in my neck, head and glands - I was told I had tonsillitis but my doctor asked me if my tonsils were shrunken? What does this mean? My throat is red and very painful to swallow liquids but not enlarged like other suffers?
shrunken mean fibrosed in adults usually tonsils are fibrosed . In acute infection they take red colour and discharge pus on palpation (squeeze sign). u may be having PHARYNGITIS . need to use a course of antibiotics for a week along with decongestants and salt water gargling
