Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 52 yr old female with a olecranon ovulation fracture with full tear of tricep tendon but I have 90-95 per cent mobility after 12 days. Is it absolutely necessary to operate on it to reattach the tricep to the elbow or can I regain most if my strength without it? Are there incidences of non surgical restoration? Thank you
Triceps bony avulsion is very rare injury.mail problem is slight lag in extension and decrease extension power.there is no problem if you are a sedentary worker.but if you want full power and movement then you have to go for surgery.surgery is also not a big deal and there are many option to reattach tendon back to olecranon
