Hi, im lyn i would like to ask if dexona and decadrone are the same because my doctor yesterday found a 1.7cm tumor on my brain and gave me dexona as my medicine with ranitidine before i l do the radiation on sunday. is it the same what the pharmacist gave me?
I don't know about the dose, but yes the active ingredient is the same, it's called dexamethasone, it should be written somewhere on the box, usually below the brand name (decadron in your case), in small letters.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Dexona and Decadron are trade names of the same drug, dexamethasone, a type of steroid which has been prescribed to you to reduce the swelling inside your brain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
