Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I m suffering from ulcerative colitis. I m in remission now. I also suffer from chronic headaches. I have vitam D and iron deficiencies. I recently was prescribed by my doctor Tab Zorsert, Tab Thioact D4, Cap Autrin, Tab Triptomer, Tab Lumia 60k for correcting my deficiencies which in turn will reduce the headaches. Its been two days since I m on these Meds and I ve started to pass blood in my stool. I m worried that I should not relapse and get an ulcerative colitis attack. Which of the above meds are causing the bleeding?
Thanks for asking query on HCM. You have not mentioned the treatment for ulcerative colitis, but hope you are on proper medications and in remission. looking at your list of recent drugs, none of them seem to be causing GI bleed except - Autrin(iron) which may cause blackening of stools. If blood in stool continues please meet your Gastroenterologist and get advice. You can also check ESR and CRP in blood to look for any relapse.
Take care
