Suggest Treatment For Ulcerative Colitis

Hi, I have been diagnosed with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis in August this year and I am taking mesacol 1.2 mg , two tablets in the morning every day. The situation is that I am better than before but the mucous and bloody stools have not completely gone away, I have lost about 6 kilos but I do not feel fatigued or weak and blood counts are normal too. I have a lot of anxiety that starts early in the morning and sends my gut into a terror situation. Is anxiety the cause of my colitis?

Appreciate your query, anxiety may not cause the colitis but anxiety can disturb the healing process of colitis so try to come out of this, anxiety could interfere with immune system, colitis is such disease that takes long time for healing either with medicine or without this, differential diagnosis would be matter of concern as well as the infection, on tentative basis Tab Metronidazole 400 mg twice in day can be tried for five days, else it is nothing to worry hope this information helps.
