Suggest Treatment For Unbearable Itching In Back
Hi.My back itches unbearably at night. I already take gabapentin for crawling ant itch on one arm and this is not dissimilar being without visible signs ! Constantly I now take sleeping pills as itch wakes me and doesn t allow for further rest !!Virginia with thanks

Hi.
As per your case history of itching on back, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild topical steroid cream like mometasone cream on the lesions twice daily.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
