My question is related to urology... My mother undergone hysterectomy. Post surgery she is suffering from uncontrolled urinating...We have consulted urologist, still no use.. She is taking Duloxitine 40mg tablets daily three times... Is there any solution around it.
Hi There are three main possibilities. The bladder may have become irritable after surgery called overactive bladder whereby bladder goes into spasm frequently and they need tablets called anticholinergics. The muscles supporting bladder might have gone weak which is treated by a sling operation and not duloxetine. The third possibility but rare is leakage of urine from bladder to vagina due to injury to operation. You will need further tests to find the exact cause.
