Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of having 4-5 episodes of
nausea and
vomiting on passing stool that is while defecating since Nov, nausea can cause gagging, otherwise vomit in the bucket, nausea may last for an hour after the episode, then feel fine, wants to know whether to see a Doctor.
Yes, certainly yes to find the clinical diagnosis by proper examination and asking for supportive investigations like that of blood, urine and stool; Upper GI
Endoscopy to see for the condition of stomach,
esophagus and first part of
duodenum to see for any acidity related issues like ulcer or so.
There can be increased pressure on passing stool, particularly if you need to strain while defecating.
Secondly, there is something called as defecating
syncope wherein one gets imbalance between the sympathetic and
parasympathetic nervous system,. this is always temporary and there is no specific treatment.
But for this one needs to rule out specific causes of such symptoms.
Take mild laxatives to avoid straining at defecation.
Take care to tell the family members when you are going to bathroom and never apply the latch so that even if you have problems you can always call for help.
never to be alone and avoid going/working near the heat and so.
