Hello. I am 60 years old with multiple sclerosis. I I need to use a catheter anytime and every time, generally four times a day when urinating. It has been seven years. Over the last two weeks it is become very difficult. It takes a long time before I connect and can drain. Is there something different I should be doing to prevent the blockage?
Hello and welcome to HCM. As an Urologist, i can fully understand your concern. You should've mentioned your gender also. You'll need see your Urologist : 1. Get your blood routine, creatinine,RBS,and LFT done. 2. ultrasound scan-KUB. According to reports,a better advice can be given. However, you can pass the catheter with more lubrication( xylocaine). You may use Alfuzosin, with Bethanecol tablets to empty the bladder. You may send any doubts to me, as a direct question. Dr.Matthew J. Mangat.
