Hello Welcome to HCM..
Thank you for posting your query.
I read your question completely and have understood it well..

I am really sorry for this health condition.
Anyway, I being a surgeon we have seen many such cases..

Do not worry, the patient will recover from this UTI. Urinary tract infection.
Well you say, patient has plenty of pus cells or wbc cells and it is growing an organism.

Please, take note of the following points.
1. Uti is one of the most common hospital acquired infection.
More common in women than in men.

2. Old age, diabetes are known risk factors..

3. Now that you have got a culture report saying the organism is Klebsiella.
I am sure that the doctor must be prescribing the medication as per sensitivity report.

4. Niftas is, nitrofurantoin and it is a very good urine specific antibiotic.
So don't worry, you are on the right track..

I suggest you these things, on how you can try to avoid such Uti in future..
1. Plenty of water. Around 3 to 4 litre.
2. Some studies say, cranberry juice helps to prevent Uti.
3. Do not store urine for a long time, keep urinating so that there's no stocked urine.
4. Personal hygiene is important.

Hope I have cleared your doubts, in case you need any help with this, let me know..
Take care and God bless.
