My gynecologist told me that i have mild vaginal infection and prescribed me using Albothyl. I had just recovered from my recurrent episode UTI. After using the second Albothyl suppository, i started having again UTI; inflammation and repeated urge for urination. The Urologist prescribed me using antibiotics for 14 days to treat UTI. After one week, i again now u have started using again Albothyl suppository and it is causing me inflammation. Need expert advice to continue it or discontinue it?
Albothyl (with the active ingredient policresulen) should have helped to prevent the infection and also reduce your symptoms to a certain extent. If at all it does not seem to be helping, in fact is causing worsening of symptoms then I would recommend a visit to your doctor and discontinuation of the drug.
You will once again require antibiotic coverage, and your doctor will have to look into causes for recurrent UTIs.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
