hi doctor . i have varicocele in the left testis in the grad 1 and i take daflon 500 but i wanna remove this varicocele of the grad 1 and i visit some doctors before to remove it . but they all say to me that " i have nothing " ?? . so for the varicocele of the grad 1 can be removed by surgery or not ?? thanks doctor for explain . god bless you
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of grade I varicocele of the left side of scrotum . This is common as the left testicular vein rains directly into the left renal vein and if the valve is incompetent all the pressure from above is transmitted to the testicular vein hence this is common only on the left side. The indication for surgery are: - Pain in the testis or lower abdomen, particularly left para-umbilical position. - Reduction in the sperm count as seen in semen analysis. If these are present then surgery must be done. Consult a General Surgeon or Urologist, insist for investigations and that will decide the further course of action. The best option is ligation or clipping of hte left testicular vein via laparoscopy.
