I have a pace maker, I also take flecainide. I am also on zonisamdie for seizures. I have also been diagnosed as having no inner ear mechanism. I have been through vestibular therapy for my inner ear and have exerecises I do for this problem. But I am ever unbalanced to the point I no longer play tennis and am always dizzy/unbalanced. Can I ever get my equilibrium back?
Hi. Thanks for your query. With the history you have provided about the inner ear problems creating imbalance and you are already doing the vestibular exercises it is possible that over time the balance will improve. Additional problems of pace maker and taking Flecainide, Zonisamdie do add a bit to the problems. With the problems you have mentioned, it will be bit difficult for you to get a complete relief. But you have to continue with hope. As precaution, you have to take bed rest, never to be alone in house, in bathroom. Do not drive and keep away from flames and water bodies.
You can certainly take an opinion of Neuro-otologist, a new super-Specialty and can help you the best possible.
I hope this answer helps you.
