Hi,
welcome at HCM.
As I can figure here, she has a problem of
1) stroke
2) Hallucintaions
3)
hypothyroidism age being 80 yrs
For your question regarding the causation of
hallucinations is concerned, in her case, the stroke( esp. involving the region of
temporal lobe) can cause hallucinations.
Her associated behavioural problems is explainable by stroke.
As the problem of hypothyroidism is concerned, it well could be an independent condition, that can be managed by thyroxine supplements.
Her age is high and is an risk factor, underlying associated
hypertension and diabetes states needs to be investigated and managed properly.
My advice for further management would be, to discus supportive care for her condition of stroke and hypothyroidism, such as addition of anti platelet agents and thyroxine supplements can be discussed with your treating doctor.
For Hallucintaions, an addition of very small dose of
antipsychotic drug can be thought of.
Her problem of headache and back pain can be managed by using NSAIDs.
Kindly discus it with your treating consulant.
welcome for further queries.
Regards,
Dr Pankaj Borade
