Suggest Treatment For Vomiting, weakness And Joint Pain
HI there, I have been throwing up for a month now. I was in the hospital about a month ago for it they rehidrated me all my labs were good with the exception of being severly hidrated. They shipped me home. I was on all liquids for a week than started throwing up again since. I have no strength and my joints hurts so bad. Any idea?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Vomiting for such a long time can have dehydration and more important is the effects of the body organs, particularly the kidneys, brains due to electrolyte imbalance. You have joint pains too and are dehydrated due to vomiting again. I would advise you the following: We must find the cause of vomiting hence consult a Gastroenterologist so that the tests of blood for CBC, liver and kidney function, serum electrolytes and whatever is needed be done. Upper GI Endoscopy and CT scan of the brain must be done. Proper medications to stop the vomiting along with the management of aftereffects should be done and if needed you must be admitted for clinical evaluation, noticing input and output charts, get proper rehydration and electrolyte balance as parenteral nutrition if needed.
