I have a varicose vein on my libia minora, what can I do to make it go away? It s very sore and irritating. Please help! My obgyn says there is nothing I can do about it. I noticed that most pregnant women have this problem but I ve never been pregnant .
You have history of having vulvar varicosities but you have never been pregnant. The cause of vulvar varicosities in non pregnant is commonly due to varicose veins of the vulva, ovary, pelvis or lower extremities. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get the required tests and investigations done to confirm diagnosis. You will be accordingly treated. Sclerotherapy of vulvar veins is the primary treatment.
If there is pelvic venous congestion, dilation and reflux in the ovarian veins it is indicative for surgery on ovarian veins, regardless of the presence or absence of vulvar varicosities. Conservative treatment with surgery may be recommended by your treating doctor. In the meantime, application of ice pack to your vulvar tissues for a few minutes can help ease the pain and reduce swelling in the area. You can repeat it 2-3 times a day. For relieve you can take anti inflammatory medications like Naproxen, one SOS when needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
