Suggest Treatment For Wheezing While On Prednisone
my child has bad allergies causing asthma/wheezing she did 2 rounds of prednisone about 2 weeks ago and has been breathing better, last night she woke up with a very weird sounding cough and fever i gave her motrin and this morning she felt fine, went to the doctor she has no fever and pulse ox was 98 no wheezing noted so she received her 4 vaccines after that the fever returned, her tonsils are red and swollen, she has been drinking a lot and her breath has been bad (assuming dry mouth) she is covered in a red rash on legs, arms, face, and neck along with some hives on her lower back none of which is abnormal for her (could be allergy and/or tends to get the rash with fever)... seems to be ok when on the motrin but very sleepy?
Hello dear , Welcome to HCM. I read your query and understand your concern. I think this reaction is an allergic reaction if she has no fever. May be the situation of two weeks before is repeated since corticosteroids are stopped. You have to go to alergologist to find the substance which he is allergic to. Since she is vaccinated this is not due to measles or rubella. Keep her in observation. Take care. Hope it was helpful, Regards
