Suggest Treatment For Whirring Noise On My Ear

Hello, For the past month or 2 i have been having a whirring noise in my ears, not constant but a few times a day. I have had problems last year when i had a build up of fluid around my brian which cause swelling at the back of my eyes.I had to get 2 lumbar puncturs and also was put on a course on tablets to reduce the fluid, i was wondering if this is connected? i also have been getting sore heads.

Hi,

Noted your history about recurrent attacks of whirring sound in ears, increased CSF that is cerebrospinal fluid pressure in brain, relieved with 2 lumbar punctures and medications.

Surely this is the first first reason for your whirring sound in ears I can think of as there is a past history. Another causes also have to be considered and ruled out are: Built up fluid inside of the middle ear or inflammation of the inner ears or nerves related.

Viral affections of the hearing apparatus of ears. This can be diagnosed by the following: Consult a neurotologist for clinical evaluation, examination and relevant investigations to get a proper diagnosis and management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant,
