I am in mid 50's with high cholesterol and triglycerides. Otherwise healthy. wt 198 ht 5' 10". I have all of a sudden started to break out with whitehead pimples overnight. A couple were fairly large. What could be the cause at this age? Also what is the treatment. I am a pharmacist so I have knowledge of medicine.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have whitehead pimples on face which occurs when there are hormonal changes and it is due to clogged pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected. I would suggest you to wash your face with mild soap and cold water twice a day , exfoliate your face once a week. You should apply clindamycin gel on face. Apply aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream. Also drink 5-8 glasses of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet. If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course along with laser therapy.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
