Suggest Treatment For Whooping Cough

I have whooping cough and my doctor refuses to see me (I m a minor). My mom called him twice already saying that I was coughing severely, even to the point of vomiting...but he told her over the phone that he d give cough medicine. I ve researched myself what was wrong with me, and I ve concluded that I have whooping cough. What can I eat/drink so that I can get better quickly? I began with a cold two months ago.....which eventually progressed to severe coughing around 2-3 weeks ago. What are some things I should avoid eating/drinking?

Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
I understand your concern.
You have not mentioned you age, sex, country and vaccination status against whooping cough.
Whooping cough is a severe disease of childhood. It mainly occurs in children of 6 month to 5 years and those not vaccinated.
If you are vaccinated and does not belong to this age group than chances are less that you have whooping cough. So, I would advise you to reconsider you conclusion.
But if you strongly feel that you have whooping cough, than you need to take a course of anti-biotics like Erythromicin or Azithromycine along with supportive care like treatment for fever. For this you need to consult you doctor as they are prescription drugs.
You should avoid oily and fried foods and spicy foods. Take light diet which is easy to digest along with plenty of water and other fluids. You may do gargles with warm salt water or with chlorhexidine mouth wash in 1:3 dilution.
Hope this will be helpful.
Do ask if any further question is there.
Take care.
