Suggest Treatment For Whooshing Sound In Ears

For 3 months I had a whoshing sound in one ear and sometimes both ears. It is more noticable in the one ear. I seen a doctor and was told that it was sinusitus and that I had fluid in my ear. Then I saw ENT specialist that told me that I don t have any fluid in my ear and gave me a prescription for nasal spray. He said that I had Aural fullness and pallets in my nose. Iv e been taking this spray for weeks and I don t feel much of a difference. I m exhausted and at this point I m trying not to stress out. But I can t even have a conversation with anyone without hearing and now it s interfering me with my duties at work.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a tinnitus. As a first line management you can take drugs like Betahistine for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
