Suggest Treatment For Wrist Pain And Bruise After Falling Down

Hello, I fell on my wrist the other day from twisting my ancle and falling down a curb I landed on my hands flat down and my wrist was in great pain, a bruise has formed on the side of my wrist and the bone in the middle hurts, the fingers are fine to move however I cannot bend my hand back fully, and If I do accidently I experience great pain, it aches a lot and If I try to bend it backwards it will not move on its own like my other wrist. I don t know what s wrong with it and what I should do!

Hello,

This is a direct injury to the flexor retinaculum and tendinitis at the wrist level. Immobilizing the wrist in crepe bandage or wrist brace will be good. Do icing for pain relief. Post 2-3 weeks of the time do some wrist muscle strengthening exercises. You should recover well in short time.
