Suggest Treatment For Yeast Infection And Heavy Spotting
I am 43 yrs old and have never had issues with menstrual cycles and have been taking Tri-Sprintec, birth control for years with no issues. I had a yeast infection last week and this week have been spotting heavy with dark brown blood. What could this mean? I took the time to write my concerns and then get quoted a price?!?! Very bad business.

Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Arun's Response
Hello dear,
Thank you for your contact to health care magic.
I read and understand your concern.
I am Dr Arun Tank answering your concern.
Yeast infection can cause brown spotting as you have mentioned.
I advice you to do Grams staining from the discharge, it most probably suggest a candida infection but this microscopic examination will confirm the diagnosis.
Please also do blood sugar and HIV testing as it is the common cause of candida infection.
For this you can take clotrimazole vaginal pessary or fluconazole oral tablet under your doctors guidance.
