Suggest Treatment Fro Painful Bump On Ring Finger

I have a bulge at the bottom on my ring finger on my right hand just where it meets the hand. It is painful if I bump it, and it s getting bigger. It s beginning to interfere with doing regular things like mixing cookies. What can it be? Thank you. Should I be concerned?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
hello,
I have studied your case and I think that you might be having trigger finger. In this condition there is tightening of pulley at base of finger. It prevent smooth movement of the fingers.
You need to show it to hand surgeon. If there is any confirmation of diagnosis than treatment is injection of steroid in the lump.
If there is continuous pain even after that then you can get a minor surgical procedure. In this procedure release of the sheath is done.
I hope these steps will help you. Let me know if you any other followup questions.
Thanks
