Suggest Treatment Gor Severe Cough

I have had a deep cough with green phlem for over two months. i am tired of going to Dr and getting more medicine that seems to be doing no good. I have been on two rounds of predisone and three different antibotics. I also have a cough syrup for night and and inhaler.

Hi

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding your cough for last 2 months. You had also told about the medication you have taken but unfortunately your problem is still there.

As per your clinical history it appears as you are having some chronic disease of respiratory system it may be allergic or infective. To diagnose it a thorough examination of respiratory and cardiac system is must along with these investigations-

1- X-Ray chest & paranasal sinuses.

2- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

3- Gram's staining of phlegm.

4- Sputum for AFb.

If on clinical examination you were found allergic than pulmonary function tests and skin test for allergy will also become necessary for planing treatment.

Ultimately at present about 2 months had already passed so now consult chest specialist for proper management.

Regards.
