Suggest Treatment On Hematoma On Hip Caused After An Injury

I am a 58 year old male who weight is 90 kg, i had a bike accident over a week ago and i fell on my hip very hard. over this time my hip (at my pelvis end) has swollen up half a grapefruit size... i have had a xray and ultra sound and the radioologist says they think there is blood in my hip area... my question is, is this dangerous? i will be seeing a doctor tomorrow

Hi
First of all you have to rule out any bony injury.
If there is bony injury you should consult orthopedic doctor.
Hematoma around hip is either inside joint or outside joint that can be easily assessed by USG.
Since you can see and palpate the swelling I think you have swelling that is outside joint means hematoma in fat or muscles then rest to affected part, ice application, good pain killer and antibiotic course would suffice in that case you can visit your doctor.
