Suggest Treatment To Boost The Testosterone Production

Hello, I am from Bulgaria â?? Sofia. I am practicing body-building actively and I have been taking anabolic steroids since several years. Recently due to my participation in a republic contest of bodybuilding I decided to make exams to find out what is my current condition after steroids administration and is the recovery of my organism after the diet goes well as it is expected.

The results of my blood exams were not very good and showed low ranges of testosterone although the estradiol hormone ranges were high. After several visits to specialist endocrinologists and andrologists I was advised not to take or make anything despite my desire to try a treatment with pregnyl. One of the endocrinologist I was at told me that if within two months the tests shows the same ranges of low testosterone I will never recover myself and I will be fated to be testosterone dependent for life. I will be very glad if you can advise me to whom should I turn to or the treatment I should follow.

Could you please recommend a treatment to boost the testosterone production. Thank you very much in advance!

Hello and welcome,

Luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormones (FSH) are secreted in the pituitary gland regulate endogenous (body) testosterone production. In men who just used several months of high dose steroids FSH and LH are supressed which leads to decreased testosterone production and spermatogenesis. After stopping steroid use a person may experience sexual dysfunction, fatigue, infertility, and depression. These are all the signs of testosterone deficiency (a person is not taking steroids and the body is still not producing).
Pregnyl (human chorionic gonadotropin) is widely used to stimulate testes to produce testosterone. In many people testosterone levels increases less than 2 month after the medication but the complete recovery of testosterone production may take a year or even longer. Unfortunately in a very few individuals complete recovery may never occur. For now besides treatment with pregnyl you should follow life style changes to naturally booster testosteron level such as alcohol cessation, taking enough sleep, decreasing stress and having healthy food rich in vitamins and minerals.

I hope I have answered your question. Please, feel free to ask me more in HCM if there is anything else you need to know.

Thank you,
Malik Amonov MD
