Hi,I am a BP patient since last 10 yrs. Doctor prescribed me Rimipril 5mg once a day. In that BP is to be 128/85 and some times little more or less. But since last week my BP is shoot up up to 170/90. Doctor prescribed me Telma 80(Telmisartan 80) once a day. Although my BP is coming down to150/90 but still is not normal. Please advice me what should I do.
Hi welcome to HCM. Your blood pressure is not controlled adequately with Ramipril 5mg.Another choice of antihypertensive like Metolar xr 25/50mg once or twice a day can prove effective.Telmisartan 80 can be used on once daily basis.Alternatively Ramipril 5mg twice a day along with Telma can be an effective option as well.Have periodic monitoring of your blood pressure every 3 day until target values of Thank you
