having intercource at the ovulation period increases the chance of becoming pregnant. but it is not that you have to have intercouse only at that period you can have intercourse before and after that period.
as you are going to be pregnant also i advice you to be more stricter in keeping your blood sugar under control.
have regular and timely meals
have regulart aerobic exercises
have your anti diabetic medications regularly
