Hello and welcome to HCM
From your description, the acne is most probably hormone related. Teenage acne generally resolves by early twenties.
Adult acne is generally due to hormonal imbalance or other reasons.
They usually appear around the jaw and chin area and indicate irregular menstrual cycles, changes in normal hormonal levels , PCOD problems etc. Stress may add to it. But it is necessary for you to first rule out any menstrual irregularity, changes in hormone levels, thyroid disorders etc. If you are on hormonal contraceptives, this may also aggravate the problem in few cases.
DO see a
dermatologist regarding necessary tests. You can start on a gel with clindamycin+
adapalene for now, at night. Acne face wash like AHA glow or
salicylic acid based, which will reduce the oil and also scarring.
You may need a course of antibiotics which will be advised by a dermatologist, after assessing your requirement. Start on the application for now. Other options such as
chemical peels can be thought of later on.
In your case, eat a healthy diet with fresh foods and fluids. Avoid fried and processed foods. Don't pick on the pimples to prevent scars.
Hope this helps.
