I have a sebacious cyst which i am familar with, have had many......although this one has developed a red round circle around it. I understand that is infection therfore i have applied tea bags as hot as i xan stand to draw it out. Unfortunately it has not shown a head to relieve oressure. Any ideas would be appreciated

Since the cyst seems to be infected I would suggest a week of an oral antibiotic for the infection to resolve. My choice of oral antibiotics would be either flucloxacillin Or cepahlexin. Once the infection resolves, Sebaceous cyst is best removed in its entirety along with the cyst wall, under local anesthesia. Popping the cyst with a needle Or squeezing Or manipulating in any other way is not recommended because it might introduce infection thereby causing the cyst to become painful. Moreover the cyst would reform itself if it is not removed entirely along with its lining wall because the lining wall contains sebaceous glands which secrete all there contents into the cyst and would cause the cyst to reform. I would suggest that you visit a general surgeon in your region for the needful.
