Suggest Treatment To Cure Severe Sunburn On Nose And Forehead

Hi I recently got a bad sunburn on my nose and forehead...it all blistered by the next day and now my skin is very rough. I peeled some of the skin and it's like raw pink skin. It burns to put anything on it. What would be best to get my skin soft again and to heel it

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

Judging from your query, your sunburn appears to have partially healed and the dead skin is now starting to peel off revealing new skin. You should avoid forcibly pulling off the dead skin and also avoid using any cosmetics, moisturizers, toners, make up etc over the new skin. Use a gentle cleanser e.g cetaphil cleansing lotion, twice daily, for face wash and avoid using soaps etc.

I would suggest that you apply a moderately potent topical steroid cream e.g fluticasone propionate cream, twice daily over the affected area for 5 days. Steroids would decrease the discomfort of peeling and would hasten the healing process.

Use a broad spectrum sunscreen, that which offers both UV B as well as UV A protection throughout the day, preferably a sunscreen with spf at least 30+ would be good for you.

regards
